i want a new toy
I’ve been on the search for a 4×5 field camera preferably lightweight and wood (for mainly superficial reasons). Came across a new Chinese brand, Chamonix, and quite intrigued. If only I was going to China, this would be my main investment! Though I don’t have much money so this will have to wait a few months.
I just bought a Shen Hao. Very well made, and it looks like it’s slightly cheaper than the Chamonix. I got mine on Ebay, so I got a slight deal…
I also bought a Shen Hao. Didn’t I already advised you one in an e-mail? Anyway, great stuff. Lightweight and as I found out last week, even sort of waterproof.
Shen Hao is definitely on my list for contenders of 4x5s. Somehow I’m intrigued by the Chamonix’s carbon-fiber base comparatively to a wood base. I’m still in research mode so not making any purchases just yet!
